Arkadelphia July 4th Island Fest at DeGray Lake Resort State Park: You can enjoy traditional Independence Day games and activities, including a watermelon eating contest, kayak race, basketball shooting, water balloon games, lawn bowling, crafts, demonstrations and more. (KTHV) -- Friday night football heroes are forged in the summer heat. In recent years, protecting young football players from that heat has been the top safety concern. But now, there's a new worry about concussions. And that's why coaches from across the state gathered on Friday in Conway. Even the NFL is threatened by concussions and head injuries. At that level, it's about liability and the quality of life after the game. As the writer of the movie, she hopes to bring alive the seriousness of suicide and depression that plagues individuals across the U.S. Summer's goal with the film is to shed light on the truth of suicide and the effect it has on those left behind as well as the healing process.
